Is Lorde’s Valentine’s Day-Inspired Post Actually Lyrics?

Here's hoping new tunes are on the way.

After 2013′s explosive debut, Pure Heroine, I’ve been waiting with breath that is bated for new music from Lorde. Well, on Valentine’s Day, the “Yellow Flicker Beat” singer posted some pretty intriguing lines to Twitter — and I’m hoping (hope, hope, hoping) that they’re from a new track.

The above lines are simple, yet evocative — like many of the 17-year-old wunderkind’s lyrics — and I came up empty when I did a search to see if they show up anywhere else. In short: They seem to be Lorde originals.

Sure, Ella may have just been tossing some pretty poetic language out into the ethers (as she often does), but the structure does suggest lyrics. Perhaps she’s ready to start teasing what she’s been working on in that candlelit studio?
